Web Page and Data Backups
Website pages and data files are in jeopardy from a variety of sources, mostly human. A Webmaster may inadvertently corrupt and upload a page or an entire site. And on very rare occasions a hard drive fails, taking with it all files on the server. Even natural disasters like hurricanes, floods and earthquakes can cause the loss of your data. Fortunately as equipment reliability, software, and data handling techniques improve, total data loss is very, very rare. Unfortunately it can and does happen.
DaySite employs a variety of techniques to protect client website pages and data.
Nightly Backups: All client files are saved to a separate storage device on a nightly basis. These files are kept for 2 days before discarding them. Should the need arise, our clients can simply request copies of their backup files.
Off Site Backups: For clients with mission critical data, DaySite provides additional protection. Your data will be duplicated, compressed and sent to a remote location on a nightly basis. This is often referred to as 'off site backups'. Should the server or data center experience a catastrophe, you data is safely stored at a remote location.
Multiple Daily Backups: For clients with more critical data, DaySite can provide additional backup protection. Multiple daily backups or hourly backup can be arranged. And if your data cannot be lost, we will place your site on its own dedicated Web server with continual redundant backup systems, with data integrity checks. Just contact DaySite if you have special backup needs.
RAID: DaySite servers employ the RAID mirroring to protect our clients form down time and data loss. In short, if a hard drive fails, one or more mirrored drives continue to operate the site normally.
